When I first discovered my writing kept veering towards the supernatural, I joined a great group called the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal Special Interest Chapter of RWA (FFnP). It's a fabulous group and I'm still a member. Lynn Rush was one of the first people to critique my early attempts at writing and for that I'm uber grateful. If you really want to help an author, pre-order his/her books!

Preordering books, or buying them on release day, doesn't mean more money for the author. But it sends an important message to people who can make a difference to the author's career.
